Problem

Skills installed from skillhub.cn can receive new versions, while the local package.json version stays static. Engineers often need to open each skill page, compare versions, decide what to update, and record the outcome; with many skills, that process is repetitive and can hide failures.

How It Works

UpdateSkills turns updates into an auditable workflow: list installed skills, read local versions, then query skillhub.cn through a browser. Matching prefers exact skill names and falls back to download count. It compares versions one by one, performs updates, and logs check, update, and batch_update events in JSON Lines. Log entries include timestamp, skills_updated, skills_failed, and per-skill details such as old version, new version, duration, and error messages. A final Markdown report summarizes updated, skipped, and failed skills.

Boundaries

The skill depends on network access to skillhub.cn and writable local log storage. If the site is unavailable, manual page review or contacting the author is recommended. It only updates skills sourced from skillhub.cn; local skills are not updated but can appear in the report. Back up skill configuration before updates, and restart Gateway if required by the updated skill.
