About this skill

Problem

Nursing quality improvement (QCC) proposal drafts often get stuck on vague topic ideas, incomplete structure, and missing baseline data. Inputs such as “reduce falls” or “pressure injury care” are not yet formal project titles, while team roles, Gantt charts, status surveys, target values, and references still need to be assembled manually. This skill turns a topic direction into an editable Word proposal that follows a QCC standard structure, reducing time spent on scaffolding and citation formatting.

How it works

  • Topic conversion: Turns vague ideas such as “reduce falls” or “PICC maintenance” into formal titles like reduce the incidence of risk events among high-risk hospitalized fall patients or improve PICC maintenance standardization rate.
  • Structure generation: Produces six sections: topic selection, team organization, project rationale, implementation plan, status survey and target setting, and references.
  • QC STORY judgment: Generates a table covering topic type, improvement focus, indicator direction, and expected duration.
  • Data and targets: Uses a default 6-month project cycle, fills in team members, beneficiaries, and baseline placeholders, declares simulated data, and keeps improve / reduce indicator logic consistent.
  • Output format: Generates a .docx file, renders the Gantt chart as a Word table with ■ progress marks, formats references using GB/T 7714-2015 sequential coding, and compiles about 20 references from sources such as PubMed, Europe PMC, and Crossref.

Boundaries

It is suitable for early QCC proposal drafts related to nursing quality or patient safety, not as a final submission. Department names, project owners, and real baseline data must be replaced before use. Simulated example data cannot be submitted directly. For reduce-type indicators, values must remain consistent, such as current baseline above target and target above or equal to improved result, to avoid contradictory numbers.

Use Cases

  • A nurse leader turns a vague fall-risk direction into an editable QCC proposal draft.
  • A ward nurse preparing a pressure-injury project needs team roles, a 6-month Gantt table, and baseline survey sections.
  • A clinical educator helps students draft a PICC-maintenance QCC proposal with a QC STORY table and GB/T 7714 references.
  • A quality-control team converts a wound-care idea into a formal title and checks target-value consistency.

Best For

  • Nurse leaders preparing nursing QCC project submissions and needing a six-section proposal draft.
  • Ward nurses turning vague care-improvement ideas into formal titles with declared simulated data.
  • Clinical educators guiding students or teams on nursing quality improvement proposals and reference formatting.
  • Quality-control staff checking whether target values, baselines, and improvement logic are consistent.
