About this skill

Problem

Internal wiki pages often scatter process notes, interface specs, and design records across spaces. Manual page lookup, version editing, and attachment uploads can miss steps. wiki-skill targets Confluence-style intranet wikis and turns page reading, search, creation, update, conversion, and attachment upload into an executable workflow.

How It Works

It uses local confluence.py against the wiki API, with base_url and PAT stored in config.json. A typical flow is:
- Locate a page with get-spaces or search-content;
- Read body.storage and version with get-content;
- Apply minimal edits before committing a new version;
- Preview Markdown / DOCX conversion locally before creating or updating;
- Check returned attachment titles to avoid duplicate-name overwrites.

Boundaries

This skill fits engineering teams that maintain shared intranet wikis, but writes affect shared spaces. Overwriting pages or deleting large sections should be confirmed first. PATs should stay in local config and not be repeated in chat or logs. markdown and mammoth can improve conversion fidelity; fallback behavior is more limited.

Use Cases

  • An engineer converts a local Markdown API note into a preview, then creates an intranet wiki page.
  • A docs owner searches spaces, reads the page version, and updates approval rules with minimal edits.
  • A tester uploads a test-case attachment and uses the returned attachment name to build a safe link.
  • A product manager converts a DOCX file into a local preview, then updates a shared design page.

Best For

  • Platform engineers maintaining Confluence spaces who need scripted page lookup, body edits, and attachment management.
  • R&D engineers writing technical docs who need Markdown preview conversion, page creation, or updates.
  • Operations or PMs responsible for policy docs who need to search spaces, read versions, and publish minimal edits.
  • QA engineers using internal knowledge workflows who need to upload attachments and generate reference links.
