About this skill

Problem

When writing a literature review, papers are often scattered across academic APIs. English records, Chinese records, DOI metadata, and reference formatting need manual cross-checking, which is error-prone.

Core Capabilities and Workflow

The skill targets psychology and behavioral-science literature search using free APIs to aggregate paper metadata:
- Multi-source search: query Semantic Scholar, OpenAlex, and CrossRef, with Chinese/English keywords, year filters, and citation-count sorting.
- Chinese pathway: retrieve Chinese journal records indexed in OpenAlex with DOI, avoiding direct scraping of CNKI or Wanfang.
- Export and citation: produce a CSV table with title, authors, year, journal, citations, DOI, and links; output APA, GB/T 7714, MLA, and Chicago formats.
No API key is required. Users can provide an email address to improve OpenAlex/CrossRef response stability.

Boundaries and Notes

It is suitable for collecting topic papers, tracking recent work, checking highly cited classics, and organizing Chinese-language leads. It does not replace commercial-database deep search or bypass authorized downloads. Public APIs should be used with rate limits.

Use Cases

  • Collect recent emotion-regulation papers by keyword and citation count.
  • Retrieve Chinese attention and perception papers, then export a CSV.
  • Generate GB/T 7714, APA, and MLA references before submission.
  • Verify DOI metadata in CrossRef and complete journal citation fields.

Best For

  • Psychology graduate students: collecting core course-paper references and exporting tables.
  • Behavioral science researchers: tracking recent highly cited work in attention, memory, and emotion.
  • Social-science writers: converting reference lists into APA, MLA, or Chicago formats.
  • Chinese-project researchers: retrieving OpenAlex-indexed Chinese journals and checking DOI data.
