About this skill

Problem Addressed

Circuit review often turns natural-language specs, SPICE netlists, or schematic screenshots into reproducible simulation evidence. Manual modeling, simulation, plotting, and report writing can fragment across tools, while different circuits need different analysis mixes. This skill organizes that workflow: parse the input, select the right simulations, and produce charts plus a Word report.

How It Works and Where It Fits

The pipeline covers circuit parsing, simulation planning, simulation execution, and optimization analysis:
- Inputs include natural language, .cir / .sp / .net / .asc netlists, and OCR-recognized circuit images;
- Amplifiers, filters, oscillators, comparators, and bandgap references are mapped to DC, AC, .tran, .noise, .four, temperature sweeps, and related analyses;
- ngspice computes operating points, frequency response, transients, noise, and harmonics, while schemdraw renders the schematic and python-docx builds the Word report;
- The report contains the schematic, netlist, simulation setup, waveforms, theory-versus-simulation comparisons, and optimization notes.
Scope: it is suited to circuit simulation, performance verification, troubleshooting, and optimization suggestions. It is not intended for PCB layout/routing, FEM electromagnetic simulation, thermal simulation, or sensor-circuit design.

Use Cases

  • Given an inverting amplifier netlist, run DC operating point and AC response to produce a Bode plot.
  • Describe a filter in natural language and generate a SPICE netlist, transient waveform, and simulation setup.
  • Check op-amp noise and temperature drift, then compile the findings into a Word report with optimization notes.
  • Upload a circuit screenshot, parse it via OCR, and verify oscillator startup and steady-state waveforms.

Best For

  • Analog circuit engineers who need to turn netlists or text specs into reviewable simulation results.
  • Electronics engineers who must check amplifier noise, bandwidth, and phase margin for a verification report.
  • Hardware test engineers who use circuit screenshots or netlists to debug DC operating points and transient issues.
  • Technical writers who need to consolidate simulation charts and optimization notes into a Word deliverable.
