About this skill

Problem

Investment and industry research teams often face scattered sources, no shared analytical framework, and conclusions that lack clickable public evidence. Cue Industry Research covers industry studies, value chains, competitive landscape, market ceiling, cycle inflection, and policy transmission, and also supports evidence mapping for pharma BD, license-out, and medical-device overseas registration and distribution.

Workflow and constraints

It does not use a fixed report template. At runtime it reads the current industry-research buddies from GET /api/playbook, then delegates semantic matching to cue-research. Selection is not based only on title keywords; it matches the user's subject, target market, and evidence type to choose a template_id. Deep research consumes credits, so confirmation is required before each run. The output should retain source links. If the runner returns RESULT empty, the agent should say that no content was retrieved instead of inventing conclusions. When intent spans multiple buddies or the match is weak, a small set of candidates should be presented for user confirmation to avoid mis-selection.

Boundaries

It is suitable for public-data-backed industry cognition, cycle assessment, policy impact analysis, and overseas-market evidence mapping. It is not a substitute for due diligence, legal advice, or underwriting. Private data, internal operating data, and non-public deal information are out of scope, and the live buddy list can change with platform visibility rules.

Use Cases

  • Analysts need to map market ceiling, competitive landscape, and business models before a roadshow on an unfamiliar emerging sector.
  • Industry researchers assess where a solar industry cycle stands and produce a memo on concentration, moats, and inflection points.
  • Investment analysts review target molecules, clinical progress, and license-out evidence to evaluate pharma BD opportunities.
  • Medical-device teams compare registration, quality, distribution, pricing, service, and return requirements for overseas market entry.

Best For

  • Investment analysts producing sector research need to turn public policy, index, and constituent data into sourced, citable sector memos.
  • Fund managers tracking new-energy and industrial sectors need to assess cycle position, supply-demand inflection points, and leader moats.
  • Pharma BD investors need to map target molecules, clinical evidence, license-out terms, and registration status to evaluate partners.
  • Medical-device consultants need to compare target-market registration, distribution, pricing, and service requirements to build overseas market-entry plans.
