About this skill
Problem
Looking up K-12 ancient Chinese poetry and prose is error-prone when the model relies on memory: it may invent similar poems, mistranslate lines, or generate unsupported appreciation. This skill anchors answers in a structured corpus of 307 in-curriculum classical poems and prose texts.
How It Works
The corpus includes 107 primary school poems, 82 middle school poems, 36 high school poems, and 82 classical prose passages. Each entry exposes fields such as title, author, dynasty, grade, type, theme, content, translation, notes, appreciation, and famousLines. Natural-language requests are resolved by search.py using full-text search and filters by author, grade, type, dynasty, or theme. The skill can return original text, line-by-line translation, notes, or appreciation. For practice, it generates fill-in-the-blank dictation, next-line prompts, multiple-choice questions, and short-answer items from the stored fields.
Boundaries
The skill covers only in-curriculum classical texts from the unified K-12 textbook and does not include modern works, extra-curricular pieces, or other textbook editions. Appreciation entries are prewritten and not generated live. If a query misses the corpus, the response should state that limitation instead of filling in missing content. Where there are textual or translation disputes, authoritative textbooks should prevail.
