About this skill

Problem

A common copy problem is not lack of polish, but the same value proposition being pushed to every buyer. In product marketing, different customers may arrive from different jobs: some are afraid of choosing wrong, some want ingredient or performance data, and some are buying a gift for someone else. A single headline and CTA can attract the wrong audience or push away the most qualified one. This skill addresses a narrower question: how to turn customer signals into actionable message segmentation instead of writing one generic 'for everyone' pitch.

How It Works

The skill turns audience research into a persona → pain → benefit → message → CTA → channel matrix. Its core steps are:
- Collect audience signals: review known segments, review themes, support-ticket complaints, purchase patterns, and existing persona research.
- Separate evidence from assumptions: mark what is supported by data and what is inferred from market observation or competitor patterns.
- Build persona cards: capture the main job, dominant purchase barrier, emotional driver, trust requirement, and preferred channel.
- Draft copy snippets: create above-the-fold headlines, benefit statements, objection pre-handlers, and CTA language for each persona.
- Recommend channels and formats: for example, a gift buyer may fit a gift-guide angle, while an ingredient-focused buyer may fit a blog or email sequence.

Boundaries

It is useful for content creation, growth copy, ad creative, and landing-page segmentation, but it does not generate missing market data. When personas are based on intuition, the skill can flag low-evidence sections and recommend validation tests. It should not be used to stereotype protected characteristics or to create fear-based messaging around sensitive health, financial distress, or personal crisis segments.

Use Cases

  • Before launch, segment reviews, tickets, and purchase data into buyer types and draft headlines, benefits, and CTAs.
  • For paid ads, differentiate beginner, research-driven, and gift buyers with channel-specific ad copy and landing-page messages.
  • When planning email flows, adapt a core message to persona-specific openings, objection handling, and conversion buttons.
  • During spend review, audit whether personas are assumptions and flag low-evidence segments for validation tests.

Best For

  • E-commerce copywriters who need to turn buyer concerns into above-the-fold benefits and CTAs.
  • Growth marketers running social ads who need beginner, ingredient-focused, and gift-buyer angles for the same product.
  • Email marketers who need to adapt one core message to persona-specific openings and objection handling.
  • Customer researchers who need to convert reviews and tickets into testable persona cards with evidence labels.
