Novel translation often fails not because words are missing, but because the result reads like machine output: dialogue sounds like subtitles, description sounds like a summary, and narration sounds like documentation. In long web novels, sentence quality alone is not enough; style, terminology, and pacing need to stay stable across chapters.

How It Works

The skill treats translation as a structured workflow:

• Genre recognition: it adapts register and idiom for xianxia, romance, suspense, sci-fi, urban, or historical fiction, so a wuxia scene does not become modern corporate speech.
• Layered processing: it separates dialogue, description, and narration; dialogue aims for natural spoken rhythm, description keeps visual texture, and narration stays readable in one breath.
• Glossary control: it extracts names, places, techniques, and rank terms on the first pass, keeping them consistent in later chapters.
• Cultural adaptation: idioms, allusions, and online slang can be rendered directly, freely, or bilingually, with the reasoning recorded in translation notes.

Scope and Limits

It fits literary or web-fiction passages where tone and readability matter, especially Chinese-English or English-Chinese translation. For contracts, papers, UI strings, or regulated terminology, stricter documentation controls are needed; long projects still benefit from human review of style, continuity, and rights-sensitive phrasing.
