About this skill

Problem

When several recent purchases pile up, the failure mode is usually not the refund form. It is the return window: dates scattered across order pages, email receipts, and apps, while boxes wait near the door. By the time the deadline feels urgent, there may not be enough time to test the item, locate proof of purchase, or ship it back.

How It Works

The skill turns a return deadline into a printable counter tag that can be taped to the package. Given the item name, purchase date, return window, retailer, receipt location, and package condition, it:

  • calculates or confirms the final return date;
  • classifies the status as keep, test more, decide soon, or return now;
  • generates a large RETURN BY label for the box;
  • adds a short checklist: test the item, find the receipt, save packaging, start the return, ship or drop it off;
  • notes risks such as missing accessories, damaged packaging, or restocking fees when relevant.

For multiple purchases, it can produce a compact multi-item summary. The boundary is clear: it does not access accounts or assert retailer policy accuracy, so the official return policy still needs to be verified before acting.

Use Cases

  • After several online purchases, generate box-tape tags from purchase dates and return windows.
  • For an unopened shoe box with one week left, confirm the deadline and create a test, receipt, and shipping checklist.
  • When five online orders have different deadlines, create a multi-item tag sheet that highlights the earliest date.
  • For a store purchase with the receipt in an app, record receipt location, package condition, and restocking-fee risk.

Best For

  • Shoppers who manually track multiple online return windows
  • Office assistants who hold packages and need visible deadline labels
  • Operations staff who log sample return dates and receipt locations
  • Sellers who inspect received items and decide whether to return them
