Problem Addressed

When a goal can be stated as an outcome but the first concrete move is still unclear, goal-chunking-helper reduces the gap between intention and action. It does not produce a full project plan; it compresses the goal into actions that can start today.

How It Works

The skill follows a decomposition path:
- Goal framing: clarify the outcome and add a deadline or review horizon.
- Reverse engineering: split the large outcome into milestones, phases, or sub-results.
- Dependency surfacing: expose missing resources, blockers, and cross-step dependencies before they become delays.
- Action slicing: turn the first milestone into very small action units, each beginning with a verb.
- Planning vs execution: keep research, scheduling, design, and delivery separate.
- Output anchor: end with the next three executable steps and one checkpoint question.

Limits and Notes

It fits goals that are roughly clear but lack a route or starting point. If the goal itself is vague, the first task may be clarification; if the work needs nested decomposition, the skill can prompt further splitting. Unrealistic timelines should be challenged directly rather than accepted. This is descriptive planning only, with no project-management software integration.
