Short Video Storyboard Planner

Problem

Short-video scripts often contain voiceover copy and timing goals, but still lack shot-level direction before shooting or editing: which shot should use a wide, medium, close-up, or POV frame; where a pan, tilt, dolly, or drone move is needed; and how text overlays, transitions, and total duration fit together. sv-storyboard-planner is aimed at that pre-production step. It turns a complete script, target duration, platform aspect-ratio requirement, and visual style references into actionable shot planning without generating visual assets.

How It Works

It follows a short-video production sequence:
- Script breakdown: maps scenes, selling points, and emotional beats into a shot sequence.
- Shot type and movement: selects wide, medium, close-up, extreme close-up, POV, or over-shoulder, and notes static, pan, tilt, dolly, handheld, or drone movement.
- Composition and overlay planning: adds rule-of-thirds, leading lines, headroom, and other framing notes, plus text or graphic overlay placement.
- Timing and transitions: estimates per-shot duration and scene transitions, producing a shot-by-shot storyboard table and a visual style summary.

Scope

The skill provides textual storyboard guidance for video creators, directors, content producers, marketing video teams, and beginner filmmakers. It does not generate images, storyboard drawings, animation, or video assets, and it does not replace on-set coordination; complex live shoots still need refinement based on location, equipment, and performer blocking.
