Problem Scope

Novel drafts often fail not because of typos, but because plot causality breaks down, character motives feel thin, pacing reads like a list of events, and AI-generated prose sounds flat, formulaic, and emotionally generic. This skill is aimed at existing novel, web-novel, or story manuscripts. Its goal is to bring the text to a publishable editorial standard, not to invent a new novel.

How It Works

It follows a four-step workflow: first read the full text and flag grammar issues, pacing problems, and signs of AI-like writing. Then analyze the manuscript across plot logic, character development, and narrative pacing. Next, rewrite problematic passages with less formulaic causality, more sensory detail, and more subjective emotional texture. Finally, it produces an overall assessment, detailed issue analysis, section-level suggestions, and before/after rewrite examples. Long texts can be reviewed by chapter or scene, and interrupted reviews can resume after the last completed section.

Boundaries and Caveats

It supports full chapters, excerpts, dialogue-only drafts, and outline-level structural review. It is not intended for academic papers, official documents, poems, or scripts, where the editing method needs to change. If no manuscript is provided, it will not invent content. All diagnosis must cite the original text, and rewrite examples must not fabricate plot points, characters, or data. Because it is a prompt-based tool, cross-run consistency can vary, so critical chapters should be reviewed across multiple passes.
