Problem

Translating academic papers is not only a grammar issue. The harder part is keeping terminology stable and making the register sound academic. A concept may be rendered as model in one sentence and method in another; wording also differs across computer science, medicine, and economics. Literal translation can read fluently but still miss field-specific conventions.

How It Works

The skill is organized around three inputs: text, direction, and domain. It first determines whether the task is zh2en or en2zh, then applies a built-in academic terminology table for the selected domain, keeps key terms consistent, and finally polishes the writing toward an academic tone. zh2en is useful for turning a Chinese draft into English phrasing; en2zh is useful for converting English material into expressions closer to Chinese academic style.

Boundaries

It is best for prose sections such as abstracts, methods, and discussion, where terminology mapping and bidirectional polishing matter most. If the input includes equations, figure captions, citation formats, or institution-specific templates, manual checks for formatting and citation style are still recommended.
