Agents often face questions like "is there an existing capability for this?". Users may ask for PR review, React performance, changelog generation, CI/CD checks, or design-system work. These needs often go beyond basic prompting and are better served by reusable skill packages. skill 01 structures the discovery process instead of letting the model improvise each time.
How it works
It parses the task's domain, action, and generality, then searches the open skills ecosystem for candidates. Common mappings include:
- Web development: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind
- Testing: Jest, Playwright, E2E
- DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD
- Docs and code quality: README, changelog, lint, refactor
It then presents the skill name, purpose, and installation entry point. If the user confirms, it helps install the skill; if none is found, it falls back to general capabilities or suggests creating a custom skill. It is useful for extending developer workflows, but results depend on ecosystem availability, and installation or custom-skill creation should be explicitly authorized.
