Short-video content analysis often requires repeatedly inspecting public videos, high-engagement posts, comment sentiment, and trending topics. Manual screenshots or one-off scripts make it hard to build comparable datasets. This skill is aimed at engineers and content analysis workflows that need to capture public Douyin data into structured JSON logs for topic validation, competitor account observation, comment feedback analysis, and hot-ranking tracking.

How It Works

It exposes four public-data entry points:
- Keyword search: search Douyin videos by keyword and sort by likes or newest release, which helps collect high-engagement samples and identify patterns.
- Creator post capture: batch-fetch public posts from a specific creator account, making it easier to compare posting cadence, topic structure, and content strategy.
- Comment retrieval: read detailed comments from a public video, helping assess user feedback, pain points, and sentiment direction.
- Real-time hot rankings: fetch Douyin hot rankings to quickly identify current trending topics.

The skill emphasizes that it does not require logging into a Douyin account, reducing account-related risk. Its built-in batching helps collect a larger sample suitable for downstream analysis. After a run, structured outputs are saved automatically under the skill's logs directory, such as search logs, creator post logs, and comment logs, so they can be processed with jq, Python, or spreadsheet tools. It requires GUAIKEI_API_TOKEN and a Node.js environment.

Boundaries

It only targets publicly visible Douyin data and does not cover private, hidden, or login-restricted content. Exported data is best used for internal analysis, reporting, and archival, not for unauthorized redistribution or secondary distribution of raw data. If search results are empty, try a more common keyword or broaden the time range. If permission errors appear, first check that GUAIKEI_API_TOKEN is configured correctly. Overall, it functions more like a data-capture and log-export tool for content workflows than a full BI system.
