Problem

Corporate ESG reporting often stalls because metrics are scattered across CSV/Excel files, disclosure standards are hard to align, and teams must produce both charts and formal documents. Manual cleanup can miss required indicators, making it difficult to reuse the same dataset for quarterly analysis, GRI or TCFD checks, and PDF delivery.

How It Works

The skill turns report compilation into an executable pipeline: esg_data_collector.py normalizes CSV/Excel input into structured JSON and can generate a standard template; esg_validator.py checks completeness, numeric ranges, and cross-indicator consistency against GRI, TCFD, and SASB; esg_visualizer.py produces bar charts, pie charts, radar charts, trend charts, and industry benchmark comparisons; and esg_exporter.py outputs PDF or HTML reports.

Boundaries

It fits annual, quarterly, or compliance-checking workflows when the user can enter ESG indicators into a template. It does not infer business definitions or pull data from external systems. Indicator IDs are used by the scripts, so avoid renaming them; PDF generation requires reportlab, and Chinese rendering depends on matplotlib configuration. Run validation before chart generation to prevent bad data from reaching visualizations.
