About this skill

Problem to Solve

After grading papers, teachers can often see scores but struggle to tell whether errors come from concept gaps, reading mistakes, calculation habits, or unsafe procedures. Generic advice such as 'practice more' or 'careless' is not useful for lesson planning.

How It Works

The skill organizes exam-error review into four capabilities: single-question analysis, full-paper loss analysis, variant-question generation, and error-based review planning. It accepts text or files such as images and PDF documents. File inputs are routed through a built-in multimodal recognition step, and the extracted summary is shown for confirmation before analysis.

  • Evidence-driven: it cites student answers, drafts, or marking traces instead of guessing overall ability.
  • Error typing: it separates knowledge gaps, concept confusion, reading deviations, and other error types.
  • Complexity grading: basic, intermediate, and hard questions receive different depths; hard questions add path reconstruction and bottleneck localization.
  • Vocational support: for lab, equipment, or job-standard tasks, it distinguishes knowledge errors from operational errors and flags safety risks.
  • Output format: it produces an HTML report with navigation, score-loss analysis, per-question analysis, practice variants, and review advice.

Boundaries

It is useful for diagnostic review by teachers, educators, or students, but it should not replace formal grading, psychological assessment, or official course evaluation. If the image is blurry, the PDF is too large, or the input is incomplete, the skill may ask for supplements; when evidence is insufficient, it should keep uncertainty labels rather than force a conclusion.

Use Cases

  • A math teacher uploads a monthly exam photo, then uses the tool to itemize score losses and identify frequent error types for the next class.
  • A vocational instructor submits a lab-question screenshot and asks the tool to analyze procedural steps, equipment settings, and safety compliance issues.
  • A curriculum lead groups at least three class errors by error type, then prepares a prioritized review plan for the upcoming lesson.
  • A student adds the wrong answer and reference answer to a specific question, then requests targeted variant questions for practice.

Best For

  • Frontline teachers who need to turn single questions or full papers into review-ready diagnostic notes.
  • Curriculum leads who need to aggregate multiple wrong answers into an error-type-based review sequence.
  • Vocational instructors who need to assess lab work against equipment settings, safety rules, and job standards.
  • Self-directed students who want targeted variant questions based on diagnosed error causes.
