About this skill
Problem
Institutional 13F data is fragmented across sources such as Giantsight, Insiderset, and SEC EDGAR, with inconsistent fields, reporting periods, and option presentation. Manually answering questions like “What did a fund buy this quarter?”, “Who holds this stock?”, or “How did its strategy change?” is slow and error-prone. This skill turns that workflow into a repeatable search, extraction, and analysis process.
How It Works
- Intent parsing: distinguishes fund holdings, stock holders, and cross-fund comparison.
- Multi-source retrieval: prioritizes
Giantsight,Insiderset,StockZoa,HedgeFollow, andWhaleWisdom, falling back toSEC EDGARor Chinese finance sources when needed. - Normalization: produces a consistent table with ticker, company, market value, weight, shares, and change notes, plus reporting date, position count, and top holdings.
- Quarter-over-quarter comparison: compares total value, position count, concentration, new entries, exits, additions, reductions, sector concentration, and option ratios.
- Strategy interpretation: separates
calls, puts, and common stock, distinguishes notional value from market value, and assesses shifts toward value/growth, thematic concentration, hedging, or long-term positioning.
Boundaries
The skill is suited to public 13F holdings analysis, not real-time trading signals. 13F filings can lag by up to 45 days, some sources use dynamic loading or anti-scraping, and option-heavy funds require attention to notional value, theta decay, and hedging intent rather than treating large put positions as simple shorting.
