Problem: mapping a task to an installable capability

When a user asks whether an agent can review PRs, write changelogs, or automate deployment, the blocker is often not code generation. It is the absence of a concrete, searchable capability package. Find Skills addresses the gap between a request and a specific skill, reducing the need to re-explain recurring workflows as temporary prompts.

How it works: search, filter, and present

The skill centers on the skills CLI find workflow. A practical path looks like:

• Identify the domain and task, such as React, testing, deployment, or documentation
• Search with specific terms, for example react performance, pr review, or ci-cd
• Present candidates with their name, purpose, installation entry, and documentation link
• If nothing fits, fall back to general agent capabilities or suggest creating a custom skill

Its value is a reusable decision path: instead of assuming the agent knows the best package, it makes the lookup explicit and reproducible for engineers.

Boundaries

It is useful for discovering existing agent skills, but it is not a full implementation for design, testing, or deployment work. If the task is highly bespoke, depends on private systems, or targets a very new domain, public skills may not cover it. In those cases, decompose the task directly rather than continuing broad searches.
