About this skill

Problem

Self-drive questions are usually constrained rather than open-ended: users may ask for a 7-day family trip to Western Sichuan, a photography route on a plateau, or pitfall advice for a specific region. When guides are scattered, a generic model answer can mix in unrelated routes and miss verifiable source links or a consistent itinerary format.

How It Works

The skill uses local reference files and follows a fixed pipeline:

  • Route retrieval: query references/routes_index.json and match candidates using keywords such as family, 7 days, or plateau.
  • Detail extraction: for a matched route, return the route name, key highlights, and the original link for source review.
  • Safety and pitfalls: add driving risks, safety reminders, and common mistakes using references/guide_logic.md.
  • Itinerary formatting: present the plan as Day 1, Day 2, etc., rather than only listing cities.

Boundaries

This is best suited to scenarios where a searchable route index and general driving guidance already exist. For real-time road conditions, hotel pricing, visas, rental cars, or fully custom navigation, external data is still required. Route highlights and pitfall notes should be rechecked against vehicle type, driver experience, and season.

Use Cases

  • A user asks for a 7-day family trip to Western Sichuan and needs route matches, daily notes, and pitfall tips.
  • A user wants a photography-focused plateau route and needs highlights, source links, and driving risks.
  • A user asks for region-specific pitfalls and needs general advice, safety reminders, and common issues.
  • A user needs a multi-day layout and wants Day 1, Day 2 summaries with source links preserved.

Best For

  • Trip organizers planning weekend or holiday road trips who need routes filtered by days and traveler type.
  • Travel-content editors who need routes, highlights, and source links structured for reuse.
  • Drivers preparing for plateau or long-distance trips who need safety reminders and pitfall notes first.
  • Customer-support operators building travel scripts who need reusable route answers and risk warnings.
