Problem Addressed
OpenCode skill packages often combine SKILL.md, _meta.json, agents/, commands/, plugins/, and scripts/. Manual installation can easily fail because of Flat, Single, or Multi layouts, invalid directory names, duplicate or renamed slugs, unclear version ordering, and stale opencode.json entries.
How It Works
The installer breaks the workflow into confirmable steps: detect whether the source is a zip or directory, identify the skill structure and name, then perform same-name checks, version comparison, and source integrity validation before copying. This helps catch mismatches between _meta.json and SKILL.md, leftover old slugs, and missing metadata. After confirmation, it installs into the project or global .opencode/skills/ path, deploys companion agents/, commands/, and plugins/ files, and optionally installs script dependencies when scripts/package.json is present.
Boundaries and Caveats
It is useful for managing local OpenCode skill installation, inspection, and removal, but it does not replace skill design or packaging. External packages still require user trust and confirmation. The installer cannot uninstall itself, and destructive or downgrade actions remain gated by explicit user confirmation.
