Problem

LLM answers can mix stale facts, guesses, and plausible-sounding claims, especially for news, prices, policy, weather, flights, official-site updates, or image sourcing. byted-web-search turns that need into an explicit web-search task: decide whether the question requires current information or source support, then call the Volcano Engine unified search API to return AI-ready web or image results.

How It Works

It supports web and image search modes. Use --type web for ordinary fact lookup and --type image for photos, logos, posters, or visual assets. Add --time-range OneDay, OneWeek, OneMonth, or a date interval for time-sensitive queries; use --auth-level 1 for high-trust topics such as medical, policy, finance, or research; and enable --query-rewrite for casual or long questions. If results are weak, adjust by removing filler words, trying synonyms, narrowing the time range, raising authority filters, or rewriting the query, rather than inventing conclusions.

Limits

The skill depends on valid search credentials and an enabled service. If WEB_SEARCH_API_KEY or Volcano Engine keys are missing, consult the setup guide first. Answers should preserve titles, site names, and URLs, and should state when evidence is insufficient. It is useful for verification and source-backed answers, not for generating unsupported facts.
