Children's Idiom Learning Card Generator

Problem

Teaching children Chinese idioms often gets stuck on abstraction: the meaning may be clear to adults, but it is hard to turn into a child-friendly card with the right tone, sentence example, and visual. This skill turns a short input—an idiom plus an age group—into an asynchronous card-generation request that returns a high-resolution illustration and supporting text.

How It Works

Typical inputs are idiom, age_group, and an optional image ratio. The skill parses the idiom's semantic theme, adapts the definition, example sentence, and learning tips to age bands such as 3–5 or 6–9, and builds an image prompt that requires the Chinese idiom text in the artwork. It then calls the ShowAPI image-generation service to create the card background.

Real calls are asynchronous: execute_task.py returns only a task_id, while query_task.py polls the task state. Each poll result should be surfaced promptly until the image URL and full text are ready. If showapi_appkey is absent, a mock path returns a preview payload in one response, but it bypasses the async scripts and is not a real generated result.

Boundaries

• Best for early childhood education, idiom introductions, Chinese language support, and custom study cards.
• Not intended for scholarly annotation, formal publishing review, or precise source citation.
• idiom and age_group are required, and the idiom should be a valid Chinese idiom.
• Real tasks do not support synchronous waiting; polling may return partial data before completion.
• Output depends on ShowAPI's image service; no-appKey output is preview-only.
