About this skill
Problem
When moving between multilingual docs, code comments, tickets, and paper abstracts, direct translation can easily drop proper nouns, numbers, formatting, and context. Engineers need a translation result that is comparable, reviewable, and easy to polish, not just an isolated target-language paragraph.
How It Works
The skill follows a translation workflow: first identify the source language and target language, either automatically or as specified by the user; then translate sentence by sentence or paragraph by paragraph, preserving proper nouns, numbers, and formatting. Long documents are split by paragraphs to reduce context loss. Output is shown as source + target comparison, with uncertain parts marked, and it can provide 1–2 more natural or formal polish versions plus a professional glossary.
Boundaries And Notes
It defaults to local processing and does not fetch external resources or translate entire copyrighted documents without authorization. It is intended as an assistant, not a replacement for professional human judgment. For sensitive, confidential, policy, or format-critical content, users should follow the latest official guidance and handle it themselves.
Use Cases
- Reviewing English API docs, translating section by section while preserving field names, error codes, and examples.
- Reading a Japanese paper abstract and producing a Chinese-English comparison with uncertain terms marked.
- Translating French support tickets into Chinese with side-by-side output and a more formal response version.
- Cleaning up German equipment manual paragraphs while keeping model numbers, values, units, and building a glossary.
Best For
- Backend engineers maintaining English API docs who need field descriptions, error codes, and examples translated into Chinese with formatting intact.
- Research assistants reading Japanese or Korean abstracts who need bilingual comparison with uncertain terms and proper nouns marked.
- Support specialists handling French tickets who need quick Chinese translation and a more formal response phrasing.
- Localization engineers working on German equipment manuals who need model numbers, values, and units preserved while building a glossary.
