Problem

Debate prep often breaks down in three places: a topic is treated as a right-or-wrong question, so the argument lacks a clear definition, standard, and argument chain; free debate turns into a losing rhythm battle because the speaker has no reusable patterns for closed questions, reductio, or scope cutting; and live mistakes—wrong data, logical jumps, or sudden opponent claims—are patched in ways that damage the overall position.

This skill is for debate beginners, advancing competitors, and people who need structured argumentation in workplace negotiation or public speaking. It turns preparation into an executable workflow: value-conflict analysis, layered argument design, evidence mapping, questioning, rebuttal, closing, and team follow-up.

How it works

The skill organizes debate ability into six reusable layers instead of one-off speech tricks:

• Foundational cognition: identify logic patterns such as causality, progression, analogy, and reductio; flag common fallacies like circular reasoning, straw man, and false dilemma.
• Argument architecture: handle definitions and comparison standards first, then design basic, deep, and fallback arguments, supported by data, cases, research, law, or human-behavior evidence.
• Attack and defense: prepare closed questions, rebuttal formulas, free-debate pacing, and closing elevation. For example, it can use “acknowledge the benefit, then expose the cost” or “limit the scope” to stop overgeneralization.
• Expression and live adaptation: emphasize clear concepts, pacing, audience fit, time control, and repair moves, such as “acknowledge the error, correct it, and show the conclusion remains unchanged.”

The usual flow is: input the motion, stance, and context; classify the debate as factual, value, or policy; build the case with definitions, standards, claims, and evidence; prepare anticipated opposition points and rebuttals; then package the result into a structured debate guide.

It is best for debate preparation, speech planning, negotiation, and structured persuasion. It does not replace legal advice, policy consulting, or fact-checking. Specific data, examples, and authority claims still need source verification. Use the strategies respectfully, without personal attacks or fabricated statements.
