About this skill
Problem
When the top level of a directory accumulates mixed downloads, source files, media, and installers, manual sorting is slow and inconsistent. file-organizer turns that into a predictable batch task: preview the proposed folders first, then move files only after confirmation.
How it works
The skill ships with eight built-in categories: 01_文档, 02_图片, 03_视频, 04_音频, 05_压缩包, 06_安装包, 07_代码, and 08_设计稿, with unrecognized files placed in 99_其他. A typical run follows this flow:
- Choose the target directory
- Run --dry-run to inspect the proposed classification
- Execute the actual move after approval
- Optionally generate a file report
A JSON config file can override the default extension mappings, which is useful when a team has specific naming conventions. Note: by default it only processes top-level files and does not recurse into subdirectories; duplicate names get automatic suffixes such as file_1.txt; system files like .DS_Store, Thumbs.db, and .git are skipped; quote Windows paths to avoid shell parsing issues.
