About this skill
Problem
Academic papers often stall before submission because of structural gaps, weak logic, language polish, or inconsistent references: incomplete Abstract elements, a flat Introduction, a Discussion that repeats results, and mismatched DOI or citation numbering. This skill turns a mentor-style review into an executable checklist, surfacing hard issues first and then deciding whether to do line-by-line editing.
How It Works
- Mode selection: quick read reviews
AbstractandConclusionand returns 5-10 key issues; detailed mode runs eight passes; R&R mode can draft or review reviewer response letters. - Review dimensions: structure, logic, language, subject terminology, formatting and citations,
DOIvalidation, similar-paragraph flags, and content-depth review. - Output: it first produces a text report with edit counts,
before → afterexamples, and submission guidance; on confirmation, it can also apply edits in place to.docxusingpython-docx.
Boundaries
- It does not invent experiments, data, or citations;
DOIvalidation only reports inconsistencies. - Similarity checks are auxiliary, and final checking should still use professional tools.
- Chinese papers receive more restrained edits, preserving author style; submission advice is recommendation-only.
