Problem Addressed
When studying vocabulary, raw word lists often contain only isolated entries with sparse definitions. Copying them into documents can produce inconsistent formatting, and printed pages can be hard to scan. vocab-organizer normalizes an unstructured English word list into fixed entries that are easier to review, print, and move into other notes.
How It Works
When the input is a comma- or space-separated list, one word per line, or a set of words extracted from reading material, the skill outputs each word using this structure:
- Word line: word /IPA/ part of speech definition, with verbs distinguished as vt. or vi. when applicable
- Cognate line: root- or affix-based derivatives, part of speech, and meaning
- Synonym line: two to three semantically close words
- Example line: one example per relevant part of speech, making usage easier to remember
By default, it produces two deliverables: an vocab-{word-count}.html preview file and a plain-text version inside a single code block. The HTML template uses card-style layout, dark red word titles, regular-weight definitions, and print styles suitable for A4 pages.
Scope and Caveats
This skill works best for an already identified list of English words. It does not automatically detect unknown words in a full text, nor does it replace etymological analysis or detailed grammar explanation. If the input contains mixed Chinese, duplicates, or uncertain parts of speech, manual verification is needed. Example sentences prioritize naturalness and memorability, but they do not guarantee comprehensive coverage of all collocations.
