What problem it solves

Household waste sorting often gets stuck on inconsistent standards and compound items that are hard to classify: the same takeout box, parcel carton, or expired medicine can map to different bin colors and rules in different cities. This skill treats the problem as a practical life-automation task, turning item descriptions into actionable sorting conclusions, disposal guidance, and reminder calendars.

How it works

It first asks for the user's city and the local standard in use, such as Shanghai four-category system or Beijing four-category system, then judges by material, contamination, and whether the item is compound. Core capabilities include:

• Single-item classification: recycling, hazardous, wet, dry, or other categories;
• Compound-item splitting: for example, drain a milk-tea cup before sorting cup body, lid, and residue;
• Disposal calendars: daily or weekly reminders based on local or community rules;
• Confusing-item explanations: logic behind tissue paper vs cardboard, large bones vs small bones, and broken glass.

Output labels the applicable standard, bin color, precautions, and memory aids, which can be used in personal to-dos, shared household docs, or automation reminders.

Boundaries and caveats

This skill is not for industrial hazardous waste, medical waste, construction debris, or chemical laboratory waste. For hazardous chemicals or large volumes of harmful waste, use professional recycling or disposal channels. If item descriptions are vague, city rules conflict, or bulky waste requires pickup, more context or an alternative workflow is needed.
