About this skill
Problem
When building a social content calendar, the hard part is often not making a template, but finding traceable topic evidence. Which topics are gaining traction on Xiaohongshu, Douyin, or Kuaishou right now? Which notes, videos, or image posts under a keyword are worth reviewing? How should publishing time, content type, and engagement signals be grouped? This skill is aimed at that research workflow. It turns hot lists, keyword searches, and follow-up sample checks into reviewable material, rather than directly publishing polished copy.
How It Works
The skill primarily uses direct CLI commands or corresponding MCP tools to query SocialDataX data. A typical workflow is:
- Hot-list review: call the Xiaohongshu, Douyin, or Kuaishou hot-search endpoint to get current rankings, topics, and heat signals.
- Keyword search: pass a focused keyword for the topic, then narrow results using platform-supported sort-type, publish-time-range, note-type, duration-range, or content-type.
- Pagination and limits: use pages or max-items to control result size, and continue only when next_page_token is non-empty.
- Result packaging: present list signals, relevant samples, titles, authors, links or IDs, metrics, and publish time, then flag the next questions to investigate.
This is best used for early topic shortlisting, cross-platform cadence comparison, and ops material archiving, turning “this seems hot” into conclusions backed by links, metrics, and samples.
Boundaries
The capability is a read-only research tool: it does not log in, post, like, comment, or change account state. It depends on SOCIALDATAX_API_KEY at runtime, and balance-related errors should follow the returned recharge guidance instead of being retried repeatedly. Pagination tokens, Xiaohongshu note_url, and note_id must remain complete original values; do not truncate, sanitize, or rebuild links from IDs alone. Search results do not have a stable full-result boundary, so --all is not supported. An empty page should also not be treated as proof that no more results exist.
Use Cases
- Prepare a 7-day Xiaohongshu topic meeting by checking hot lists and recording ranks, topics, heat signals, and follow-up angles.
- Plan a 30-day Douyin calendar by searching keyword results and filtering videos or image posts by publish time, duration, and content type.
- Compare Kuaishou and Douyin traction for one theme by pulling hot lists and searches, then organizing titles, authors, links, IDs, and metrics.
- Review last week's ops material by archiving titles, accounts, links, publish time, and metrics into a traceable list.
Best For
- Xiaohongshu content ops owners who need to turn hot lists and keyword samples into a weekly topic list.
- Douyin video editors who need to study duration, content type, and publish timing for similar short videos.
- Kuaishou growth analysts who need to organize topics, accounts, links, and engagement data for weekly reviews.
- Engineers building social content workflows who need read-only search APIs in Agents or automated topic scripts.
