About this skill
Problem
E-commerce competitor analysis often stalls on fragmented data: pricing, sales, reviews, and SEO signals live on product pages, search results, and comment text. Manual comparisons fall apart when anti-scraping blocks links, sales figures are missing, or currencies are inconsistent, making it hard to turn public information into actionable business input.
How It Works
The skill parses competitor URLs, keywords, requested dimensions, and output format. For product links, it uses WebFetch to collect core page fields; for category keywords, it uses WebSearch to supplement public information. It then evaluates pricing competitiveness, sales performance, review quality, SEO strength, and differentiation, producing a comparison table, SWOT matrix, and prioritized action recommendations.
- Validates competitor count, missing fields, price units, SWOT completeness, and action recommendations before final output.
- Degrades gracefully when scraping fails by switching to search, or reports missing data when no public source is found.
Fit and Limits
Best for small-to-mid e-commerce teams doing product selection, pricing benchmarks, review gap analysis, or pre-launch competitor reviews. Not suitable for analysis requiring real-time inventory, backend transaction data, or private ad metrics. Missing sales data, subjective SEO scores, and cross-border currency conversion remain noise sources, so outputs should retain data provenance and missing-data labels.
Use Cases
- Before launch, compare competitor links on JD and Tmall by price, sales, and key selling points
- Use a Bluetooth earbuds keyword to find top competitors and produce a comparison table with selection advice
- When product links fail due to anti-scraping, fill in public price and review signals before drafting the report
- After launch, review competitor moves across price, reviews, and SEO, then generate SWOT and actions
Best For
- E-commerce operations leads who need to turn competitor pricing, selling points, and review gaps into comparisons
- Cross-border pricing analysts who need normalized currency and competitor price competitiveness signals
- Store managers preparing new products who need SWOT grounded in public reviews and SEO signals
- Category marketing specialists who need multi-competitor public information turned into actionable recommendations
