Toutiao MCP

Toutiao MCP exposes Toutiao publishing as a set of MCP tools that models can call, reducing the need to manually handle login state, content constraints, and image inputs.

Problem

• Pre-publish checks: Use check_login_status before posting so expired cookies are caught earlier.
• Disconnected login: Use login_with_credentials to open a browser, complete login, and reuse local cookies.
• Mixed content formats: Supports publish_article for articles, publish_micro_post for micro posts, and publish_xiaohongshu_data for batch syncing Xiaohongshu data.

Workflow

An article publish usually follows this order:
1. Validate: Confirm login, keep the title around 2–30 characters, and use at least 300 words in the body.
2. Prepare images: Accept local paths or URLs, with JPG, PNG, GIF, and WEBP support.
3. Call tool: Run publish_article and wait for an article ID or error.
4. Handle failures: Map title length, image path, and network timeout issues to concrete fixes.

Boundaries

• It depends on an external toutiao-mcp server; the skill is mainly a configuration and calling convention.
• Micro posts are best under 2000 characters and 9 images; longer content should use the article interface.
• Batch publishing can partially fail, so inspect per-item errors and retry individually.
• Cookies are stored locally, and runtime permissions include browser automation and network access.
