Problem
Legal research often fails when judgment sources are fragmented, statute versions are mixed, or cases lack verifiable case numbers. For litigation teams, an unverified citation can make a retrieval report unusable. Z Law focuses on verifiable legal materials rather than general legal Q&A.
How It Works
The skill organizes WebSearch, WebFetch, and cross-source validation around four workstreams:
- Judgment search: prioritizes exact case-number lookup, filetype:pdf judgments, court libraries, and official lawyer or court platforms.
- Statute search: targets statute sites, court gazettes, and administrative rule repositories.
- Typical cases: pulls Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate case pages for summaries and typical significance.
- Reliability ranking: tiers channels by case-number availability, completeness, and official authority; T0 and T1 sources are preferred for report text, while low-quality sources are used only as leads.
Boundaries
Use it for tasks like retrieving case law, statutes, and typical cases, then producing a source-labeled retrieval summary. It is not the best fit for pure doctrinal explanations or full legal-writing workflows. Final outputs should still require complete case numbers, official source URLs, and clear provenance.

- When advising a criminal appeal, find similar judgments, extract full case numbers and holdings.
- When reviewing contract disputes, locate the relevant statutory text, judicial interpretation, and issuing authority.
