Problem

Long-form web novel writing often stalls at premise selection, pacing, and reader feedback: drafts can become self-indulgent, chapter length drifts, ending hooks feel weak, and the result may not match Tomato-style reading expectations. Tomato Novel Writing Assistant turns premise selection, outlining, chapter drafting, and quality checks into an explicit workflow.

• Confirm emotion tags, genre, protagonist setup, contrast, core conflict, and chapter count
• Generate 00-Outline.md, character profiles, emotion curves, and golden openings
• Keep each chapter at 2200-2800 words and verify length with check_chapter_wordcount_tomato.py

Workflow and Limits

The skill treats creative constraints as checkpoints rather than silently rewriting ideas. Before each chapter, it reads the outline, previous hook, and emotion curve to define the chapter task; after drafting, it checks opening appeal, dialogue naturalness, continuity, and suspense. Every 5 chapters, it produces a pacing report and can adjust later plans using completion rate, follow-read rate, or comment keywords.

• Best for Tomato-style short or medium-length serial fiction
• Not intended for serious literature, academic writing, or essays without clear conflict
• If a solid outline already exists, start from chapter drafting; if the conflict is unclear, complete the six-question setup first
