Problem: Generic Study Reminders Lose Context
Many study reminders simply repeat “time to study,” without reflecting the learner’s current subject, unfinished tasks, completed progress, or preferred tone. This matters when someone is maintaining a multi-day routine, such as vocabulary drills, course assignments, reading plans, or exam prep. A one-size-fits-all reminder can feel mechanical, and it may continue nudging the user even after they ask for a rest day.
How It Works: Profile-Driven Reminders and Daily Review
Study Buddy treats Markdown profiles as the source of state. It maintains references/总体学习档案.md, references/周任务.md, and references/学习搭子性格.md, covering long-term goals, near-term tasks, and reminder personality. During setup, it asks whether to import the personality from ./基础设定/SOUL.md or co-create one, then asks for the daily reminder window, reminder interval, current learning goals, and today’s tasks.
In daily use, when a reminder is triggered, it first reads the personality profile, general learning profile, and weekly task profile, then generates a reminder tied to concrete tasks. If the user replies with progress, the skill updates the relevant profiles automatically. Near the end of the day, it runs a review, marks unfinished tasks, and gives a gentle follow-up in the configured tone. Profile updates overwrite the original file to avoid duplicate versions.
Fit and Caveats
It is well suited to personal accountability workflows: vocabulary practice, course check-ins, reading plans, and exam revision. It is not a full project-management system, shared collaboration tool, or performance-tracking platform. Keep in mind that reminders should stay within the configured window; if the user asks for a rest day, that day should not trigger study nudges; and information the user has not explicitly mentioned should not be added to the profile. If the setup depends on a Calendar scheduling system, make sure schedule creation, updates, and cleanup on uninstall are supported.
