About this skill
Problem It Addresses
Scattered notes, meeting conclusions, and study material often lack hierarchy. When engineers draft solution options, debugging flows, or requirement breakdowns, they need to turn a topic or outline into readable structure. This skill targets structured expression rather than replacing a full mind-mapping suite.
How It Works
- Input: provide a center topic, an existing outline, or a block of notes to organize.
- Analysis: identify core dimensions, relationships, and patterns such as total-detail, process, SWOT, or
5W2H. - Output: produce Markdown text using headings, lists, or indentation for first, second, and third-level branches.
- Import: paste into
XMind,MindMaster,Mubu,Obsidian, or similar tools that accept Markdown outlines.
Boundaries
The result is a text-based mind map, not an image, PDF, or interactive canvas. It is best for scaffolding first and filling details later. Keep nodes keyword-like instead of stuffing long paragraphs into one branch. If the source material is missing facts, fill those gaps before structuring.
Use Cases
- Before a design review, turn scattered requirements, risks, and implementation steps into a Markdown tree that can be imported into XMind.
- After picking up a troubleshooting ticket, expand symptoms, likely causes, verification commands, and rollback actions into a problem-solving outline.
- Before writing training slides, decompose goals, modules, examples, and exercises into a central topic with second- and third-level nodes.
- When organizing research notes, group scattered material into SWOT or 5W2H dimensions and generate an outline for Obsidian.
Best For
- Solution authors who need to turn requirements, risks, and steps into a clear branch tree before review.
- Engineers who need to organize incident symptoms, causes, checks, and rollback paths into structured outlines.
- Content editors preparing training decks or study notes who want to scaffold a central topic and sublevels.
- Note users working with Obsidian or XMind who need Markdown outlines for import.
