About this skill

Problem: Why AI drafts feel generic

LLM-generated novel chapters often share three issues: mechanical phrasing, over-explained significance, and format artifacts. Sentences like “this marks a new stage,” “at the same time,” or “the city was shrouded in darkness” sound templated. Character names may shift unnaturally, fight scenes stay vague, dialogue lacks action beats, and the text may contain em dashes, emoji, or list-like structure. This skill targets the language layer only: it does not change plot, add or remove characters, or rewrite non-fiction material.

How it works: a 36-rule rewrite pass

Paste the chapter text directly, or add preferences such as “keep dialogue” or “do not weaken the fight.” The skill processes the draft in three stages:

  • Enhancement: add inner reactions, environment details, character appearance, action chains, and natural comic beats.
  • Hard constraints: remove vague words, AI frequent phrases, inflated language, vague verbs, empty modifiers, passive redundancy, and all em dashes.
  • Detection: check for significance tails, false depth, promotional tone, synonym swapping, forced parallelism, assistant-style phrases, and knowledge-cutoff statements.

It also validates input before rewriting: empty text, garbled content, non-novel material, or text under 100 characters stops execution and reports the reason. Before output, it checks completeness; if the result is truncated, bloated, or empty, it falls back to minimal cleanup that removes em dashes and banned phrases instead of shipping a broken draft. Text over 8000 characters is split at scene boundaries, with a 200-character overlap window, then merged and deduplicated.

Limits and cautions

It is best for Chinese web-novel chapters, especially fantasy, apocalypse, or system-flow genres. It is not an outline editor, plot expander, translator, or general nonfiction rewriter. The final length usually stays within a 15% drift from the source, and the output contains only the rewritten chapter and a character count, without edit notes.

Use Cases

  • An author submits one system-flow chapter and asks to remove template phrases without changing the plot.
  • An editor receives an apocalypse draft full of em dashes and vague adjectives, then requests dialogue preserved.
  • A writer sends three drafts for batch cleanup of AI frequent words within the 8000-character chapter limit.
  • A proofreader checks a fight scene and asks for consistent character references and concrete action beats.

Best For

  • Web-novel author: wants LLM drafts turned into natural, specific chapters without changing the story.
  • Editor: needs template phrases, em dashes, and AI words removed while preserving dialogue.
  • Writer: wants multiple drafts batch-checked for banned words, synonym swapping, and forced parallelism.
  • Proofreader: wants to audit character references, action details, and assistant-style phrases.
