About this skill

Problem

Douyin trend tracking often starts with rankings scattered across pages, exports, and time windows. Without timestamps, source links, and change evidence, it is hard to tell a real rise from one-off noise. This skill turns public Douyin rankings and authorized data into an auditable trend report for hot-topic monitoring, niche insights, and content planning.

How It Works

  • Confirms date, timezone, niche, keywords, board type, lookback window, and output cadence; uses the current date when missing and records collection time.
  • Chooses data sources by priority: configured Douyin data connector or official API, user’s logged-in Douyin page, or user-provided CSV, XLSX, JSON, and screenshots.
  • Collects required fields and preserves raw rank, heat, title, author, publish time, and source link; dedupes by board type + date + item/topic ID.
  • Compares current and previous values to surface new entries, rank changes, consecutive appearances, and abnormal jumps; does not fabricate trends when historical values are absent.
  • The final report includes collection overview, hot list, change signals, niche insights, action list, and evidence boundary.

Boundaries

  • Does not bypass CAPTCHA, login walls, paywalls, rate limits, or anti-scraping; collects only task-required fields.
  • If live data cannot be accessed, states “real-time collection incomplete” and analyzes existing materials only.
  • Does not treat heat as views or correlation as causation; avoids exposing cookies, tokens, account identifiers, or private business data.
  • Field mapping, dedupe keys, and trend calculation rules are in references/field-contract.md.

Use Cases

  • Ops reviews Douyin hot boards daily to spot new niche topics, rank changes, and follow-up content angles.
  • Content teams compare weekly post data from logged-in pages or CSV files using dedupe keys and heat changes.
  • Data analysts validate ranking reports by checking timestamps, timezone, missing fields, source links, and evidence boundaries.
  • Brand teams monitor industry topics, flag abnormal jumps, and note login scope, history windows, and API limits.

Best For

  • Douyin content operators: need source-backed topic ideas from public hot boards and change evidence.
  • Brand or market analysts: need to compare niche ranking heat, consecutive appearances, and abnormal jumps.
  • Data engineers managing content metrics: need consistent fields, dedupe keys, timestamps, and traceable sources.
  • Content strategy consultants: need reports that separate live values, historical values, inferences, and recommendations.
