About this skill

What it solves

Building a personal brand often fails before content production: people cannot clearly state who they are, who they serve, or why their perspective matters. Many creators end up with too many interests, no sharp value proposition, and content that drifts over time.

This skill treats IP positioning as a structured consulting process. It uses a six-dimension model: professional genes, value proposition, unique perspective, target audience, expression style, and long-term vision. Each dimension is explored through questions, evidence from the user’s answers, and staged outputs.

How it works

The V2 workflow runs a five-stage progressive interview, usually within 4–6 rounds:

  • Round 1: capture initial signals and produce an initial profile card.
  • Round 2: dig into capabilities and value, producing a capability map.
  • Round 3: clarify differentiation and audience, producing a differentiation sketch.
  • Round 4: define style, vision, and generate three positioning options.
  • Round 5: optional calibration, gap checks, and competitive benchmarking.

It applies consulting techniques such as 5 Whys, counter-argument challenges, extreme-scenario tests, and cognitive-conflict detection. When contradictions appear, the skill marks them as possible differentiators instead of discarding them. After the interview, it performs consistency checks, synergy analysis, and positioning-strength scoring.

The final deliverable can be a Markdown report or a recommended HTML visualization, including a radar chart, tag cloud, option comparison, competitive map, and a 30-day action roadmap.

Where to use it

It is most useful for creators, consultants, freelancers, and content operators who need to turn scattered background material into a defensible positioning statement. It does not make the final decision for the user; it presents options and evidence. It is also less useful when the user only wants a slogan without doing deeper self-analysis.

Use Cases

  • Before launching a paid newsletter, turn background, audience, and distinct views into three positioning options.
  • When auditing an account, check whether the current positioning conflicts across audience, style, and long-term vision.
  • Before an interview or client pitch, condense strengths, deliverable value, and target customers into a clear intro.
  • When benchmarking three creators, compare six dimensions and identify borrowable traits versus non-copyable limits.

Best For

  • Freelancers preparing a personal brand who want to extract sellable professional value from project history.
  • Content account operators who need a clear audience profile, content direction, and tone.
  • Consultants or coaches who want to package experience into a differentiated service positioning.
  • Knowledge-paid creators who need to converge scattered topics into a sustainable positioning plan.
