About this skill
Problem
Writing China macro monthly or quarterly reports often becomes a manual loop: pulling GDP, CPI, PMI, social financing, and policy meeting data, then formatting charts, footnotes, and disclaimers. The output is easy to drift from a consistent research-note structure, and data citations are easy to miss.
How It Works
This skill turns the workflow into a repeatable pipeline:
- Data retrieval: calls Gildata MCP through mcporter, prioritizing policy meetings, macro industry data, and official speeches, and uses parallel requests where possible.
- Charting: generates PNG charts such as the CPI/PPI spread, M1-M2 spread, PMI trend, and social financing structure.
- Report writing: follows references/report-template.md to produce core takeaways, real-economy analysis, inflation, credit, policy, risk notes, and data sources.
- Output: emits Markdown and HTML by default, with ECharts-powered interactive charts in HTML, and can add PDF on explicit request.
Boundaries: it does not provide investment advice; every numeric claim must be sourced and footnoted; first-time setup requires mcporter, JY_API_KEY, and MCP service configuration; charting assumes a Python environment with matplotlib.
Use Cases
- Integrating central bank policies, PMI, and social financing data into a monthly macro report with charts.
- Generating CPI/PPI spread charts and writing deep-dive analyses in a professional brokerage format.
- Combining M1/M2 and credit data to output HTML pages featuring data footnotes and disclaimers.
- Retrieving core indicators from the Gildata API to automate the workflow from data cleaning to MD drafting.
Best For
- Securities analysts who must output regular macro reports with strict data sourcing
- Data analysts who want to transform fragmented policy data into interactive HTML pages
- Business researchers needing to visualize core indicator trends for monthly reviews
- Technical analysts relying on Gildata MCP services to process raw macro data
