About this skill

Problem It Solves

Technical, product, meeting, and research documents often need repeated revision when the structure is not agreed first. Generating long text immediately can miss sections, produce unsupported claims, or present general knowledge as fact. This skill splits writing into outline confirmation and source selection, reducing directional drift.

How It Works

It first selects a template by intent, such as technical-outline.md, product-outline.md, or blog-outline.md, then generates sections with complexity markers. User edits are tracked as additions, deletions, or reordering. Body generation requires confirmation, a stable outline, and a chosen mode. In recall mode, it maps sections to source priorities, parses documents, checks conflicts, uses recalled material as the primary basis, and cites sources. In direct mode, it expands the outline using general knowledge without mandatory citations. A quality gate checks section coverage, terminology, logic, and citation completeness.

Boundaries

It fits structured, reviewable professional documents. Use an outline-only skill if only structure is needed, or a fixed business-writing template if the format is rigid. Recalled sources are optional, and conflicting material must be resolved or explicitly marked.

Use Cases

  • An architect drafts a microservice migration plan by confirming the outline, then generating a cited body from technical docs and repository material.
  • A product manager writes a PRD using the product outline, revises and confirms it, then drafts from competitor and user research sources.
  • A project assistant compiles meeting minutes by recalling past meeting records and decision documents, adding source citations to the summary.
  • A technical writer prepares a long blog post using the blog outline template and direct drafting to produce a quick opinion draft.

Best For

  • Engineers who regularly produce technical or architecture review documents need to align sections before drafting from technical sources.
  • Product managers preparing PRDs and feature specs for review need stable outlines, change tracking, and source citations.
  • Project managers summarizing meeting decisions need to recall past meeting records and decision documents for traceable minutes.
  • Report writers producing internal research or industry analysis need section planning and support from knowledge bases or external reports.
