About this skill

Progress information often ends up scattered across chat messages, documents, and verbal updates, so the context disappears halfway through a task. By the time a daily, weekly, or monthly review is due, it is hard to reconstruct what was completed, what is blocked, and what changed in priority. Progress Assistant is built for this kind of ongoing progress management: it connects status collection, schedule planning, and report generation into one workflow instead of acting only as a reminder.

How It Works

  • Status sensing: reads task documents, project files, and conversation context to capture progress, blockers, priority, and workload. It can also collect status at defined checkpoints.
  • Schedule management: creates, edits, and removes appointments, detects time conflicts, suggests time allocation based on urgency, and applies changes only after confirmation.
  • Report generation: structures daily, weekly, monthly, and analytical reports around completed work, next steps, risks, blockers, trends, and improvement suggestions.
  • Scheduled tasks and push: preconfigured jobs can cover morning planning, evening daily reporting, Monday weekly data collection, Friday weekly report generation, and long-work breaks. Notifications can be sent through the ClawBot / WeChat channel, and replies can be recorded back into MD files.

Boundaries and Cautions

  • The skill relies on local file conventions, such as schedule/daily, schedule/tasks, schedule/status, and schedule/strategic-silence, with date-based naming. Cross-system use may require aligning the storage layout first.
  • WeChat push requires binding the Claw WeChat channel in WorkBuddy. Without that binding, scheduled jobs may only work as local reminders or manual triggers.
  • Strategic silence separates rest records from work data: silence periods are excluded from daily/weekly/monthly reports, and task timing is paused. It fits scenarios that need a clear work/rest boundary, but not all real-time collaborative workflows.
  • External actions such as sending emails or publishing messages still need explicit confirmation, making the skill better suited to personal progress tracking and report archiving.

Use Cases

  • Automatically collect project progress, blockers, and next-day plans at 17:30 and save them into a dated daily report file.
  • Summarize weekly daily reports on Friday, flag risks and blockers, and produce a formal weekly report for review.
  • Create or edit task schedules, detect time conflicts, and propose a rebooking plan that can be confirmed before applying changes.
  • Trigger rest reminders during continuous work while keeping silent records separate from work-efficiency statistics.

Best For

  • Project engineers who need to organize daily task status and deliver time-bound daily reports.
  • Project leads who must regularly summarize progress, risks, and resource plans for managers.
  • Researchers who want rest reminders during continuous work without mixing rest time into productivity stats.
  • Remote product managers who need to trace WeChat replies, document status, and schedule changes.
