Read it with two questions. What does the publisher say the model is for, and what do they say it is not for? The limitations section is usually the most useful part, because it is where a publisher admits the cases their model handles badly. A card with no limitations section is not a card that claims there are none.
The card is also where licensing is often stated, though the authoritative text is the license file. When a card and a summary disagree, the card and the license file win.
This site uses the model card, or a public summary of it, as the long description on a model listing. That text is the publisher's material, and the page links to the source so you can read it in full. Our own assessment, where it exists, appears separately as an editor's note.
