Introduction¶
There are two common approaches to turning a PDF or a topic into learning materials that you can “actually learn from.” The first is feeding it to a model to write a long article; the result is readable but not actionable. The second is creating a PPT; the result is viewable but offers no feedback. Both lack the most critical link in the learning loop: the learner needs to take action, and the system needs to know if they did it correctly.
The Skill introduced below takes a third path: it transforms any topic or document into a self-directed learning course complete with explanations, quizzes, and discussion prompts, while simultaneously producing a runnable interactive courseware.

What is this¶
Positioning in one sentence: A generator that transforms any topic or document into an immersive, self-directed learning course. The output is a course that “gets the learner to take action,” rather than just a long article.

Drawing on the Tsinghua OpenMAIC multi-agent classroom paradigm, it decomposes the classroom into different roles performing their respective duties, rather than letting a single model write from start to finish. It solves the problem where learners only have “reading” as a mode of engagement after receiving materials, lacking quiz feedback, discussion partners, or practice outlets.
Core Features¶
According to the official description, this Skill covers six types of learning scenarios (the list below comes from the official Skill description; the page failed to load during writing, so it could not be verified again):
- AI Teacher Explanation: The “Teacher” role outputs course content and undertakes the responsibility of instruction.
- Instant Quiz Scoring: Supports four question types—single choice, true/false, multiple choice, and short answer—and provides total score statistics.
- AI Classmate Discussion: Provides a discussion partner, allowing learners to clarify concepts through dialogue rather than silent reading alone.
- Hands-on Practice: Provides practice segments that require the learner to perform actual operations.
- Interactive Components: Built-in interactive components like calculators and classification games that can be operated directly.
- Project-Based Learning: Contains the three elements of roles, milestones, and deliverables to organize long-term tasks.
At the output level, it produces two types of artifacts: a Markdown course package (for reading, revision, and secondary processing) and a single-file HTML interactive courseware (supporting page-turning, answer grading, and progress memory, suitable for direct distribution without additional deployment environments).
Generation Process¶
The process is a two-stage pipeline: outline first, then generation, with a manual confirmation point in between.
- Input a topic or document, expressing the intent to “make it into a course.”
- Generate an outline and pause for user confirmation.
- Only after the user confirms the outline does it begin generating course content according to the outline.
- Output the Markdown course package and the single-file HTML interactive courseware.
The significance of this order lies in the fact that the outline is the only branching point. Confirming the outline first avoids discovering the wrong direction after writing tens of thousands of words, keeping the cost of rework at the cheapest step.
Installation and Activation¶
The official materials do not provide specific installation commands or skill directory paths, only the coordinates and metadata listed above. requires_api_key=false indicates that no additional API Key configuration is needed, and it can be called directly once enabled.
This Skill is based on the generic SKILL.md format. The general way to enable this type of Skill is to place the SKILL.md in the host’s skill directory, and the host will automatically match and trigger it based on the skill description. Directory locations vary by host; since official materials do not detail the differences between Cursor, Codex CLI, and Claude Code, you need to confirm according to their respective documentation before implementation. No speculation is provided here.
The trigger methods come from the official description. It is enabled when encountering the following expressions: wanting to systematically learn a new topic, uploading a document or PDF and hoping to “make it into a course,” “generate interactive courseware,” “teach me XX,” “create an interactive classroom/learning courseware,” or wanting to produce learning content with explanations, quizzes, and discussion prompts from materials.
Typical Usage¶
The minimal reproducible process is as follows:
- Prepare a document or a topic description.
- Tell the host “Teach me XX” or “Turn this document into a course,” and wait for the outline to be produced.
- Review the outline and request to add or remove chapters.
- After confirmation, wait for generation and receive the Markdown course package and the single-file HTML courseware.
- Open the HTML courseware, proceed by turning pages, answer questions to see grading results, and retain progress after exiting.
If the goal is just a quick review, you can also take only the first two stages, using the outline as a learning roadmap without generating the full courseware.
Use Cases and Caveats¶
Who it is for: People who want to systematically learn a new, unfamiliar topic; people who want to turn internal documents or PDFs into distributable learning materials; people who need to add quizzes and hands-on segments to a course and are not satisfied with just a long article.
Three cases where it is not applicable (official boundaries):
- PPT or presentation creation — should use PPT-specific skills.
- Pure document summarization or translation.
- Data report generation.
Two points to note: The rating and download counts are real-time page fields (at the time of writing: rating 100000, downloads 1180, installs 0); they change over time and should not be used as a long-term basis. The current install count is 0, indicating few adopters and limited feedback samples; it is recommended to validate with a small course before full implementation.
Summary¶
Its value lies not in “turning documents into long articles,” but in completing the learning loop: providing explanations, grading, discussion, practice, interactive components, and project-based tasks all at once, and producing single-file courseware that can be opened and used immediately. If the materials in your hand can currently only be “read,” this Skill is a low-cost path to changing the mode of engagement.
