Introduction

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developing and managing agent workflows, developers often need to frequently check knowledge graph status, manage cluster resources, and monitor operational metrics. dsh-plugin-sirchmunk is a DSH-native Web plugin that directly injects a section named Sirchmunk into the DSH settings interface. This section centrally provides features such as knowledge graph viewing, cluster management, runtime monitoring, and privacy settings, eliminating the need to switch between multiple standalone tools.

Core Features

The plugin is registered through DSH’s settings.section slot with the ID sirchmunk and an order of 35. It primarily includes the following capabilities:

  • Knowledge Graph Visualization and Export: Visually displays graph nodes in the interface and supports exporting the current graph as JSON.
  • Cluster Management: Lists clusters. For destructive operations such as deletion, the plugin adds a global write permission switch and a secondary confirmation step to prevent accidental operations.
  • Runtime Monitoring: Reads Sirchmunk API data through an adapter layer and displays CPU usage, memory usage, and service uptime in real time.
  • Shared History: Displays timestamped audit logs and activity records to make it easier to track system state changes.
  • Privacy and Data Masking: Provides a masking toggle for sensitive data, configurable masking keywords, and global write-operation permission control.
  • Built-in Agent Skill: Provides a standard skill named sirchmunk-search. This skill allows an Agent or user to search the local document library through the MCP tool mcp__sirchmunk__sirchmunk_search. It supports querying 100+ formats, including PDF, Word, Excel, Markdown, and code, and provides three modes: FAST (quick matching), DEEP (deep analysis), and FILENAME_ONLY (filename only).

Installation and Activation

Install the plugin in the Node.js package environment used by DSH Host:

npm install dsh-plugin-sirchmunk

After installation, you must restart DSH Host. After the restart, DSH applies the bundle patch and loads the browser module, and the Sirchmunk section appears in the settings interface.

Implementation Details

The plugin follows DSH’s Host/Client separation architecture:

  • Host Entry: Located in lib/index.js, it exports the name and the apply(ctx) method.
  • Browser Entry: Located in lib/client.js, it is injected through window.__ModuleLoader__.load.

React and ReactDOM are declared as peer dependencies and are provided by the DSH runtime. In the browser build, these two packages are marked as external dependencies and are not bundled into the published client package.

Notes

  • Dependence on the Local Service: The current UI obtains its status through the health check endpoint of the local Sirchmunk service, http://localhost:8584/api/v1/health. Graph, history, and monitoring data are read through an adapter layer in src/services/api.ts, and can later be replaced with a production backend without modifying the plugin entry.
  • Using the Agent Skill: The built-in sirchmunk-search skill depends on the local Sirchmunk service being running and is used for cross-format local knowledge retrieval.
