Introduction

When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH), the default settings dialog is typically a fixed modal centered on the screen, with a masked background. This approach offers limited visibility when reviewing long lists or complex configurations and can easily obscure the main interface.

The dsh-fullscreen-settings plugin changes this experience into a Codex-like full-page settings screen: the window fills the entire screen, the mask is removed, a prominent back button is provided in the top-left corner, and the content area uses a single-column layout.

What It Is

This is a plugin that refactors the DSH settings dialog into a full-screen page.

  • License: MIT
  • Positioning: UI style enhancement; it does not change logic or modify the official source code.

Core Features

Layout and Visuals

  • Full-screen coverage: The settings page fills the entire window, and the original background mask is removed.
  • Top-left navigation: A full-row-width “← Settings” button is added in the top-left corner; the arrow and text share the same color block, and clicking it goes back. This aligns with the interaction logic of the left-side menu in the main interface.
  • Left-right split: The left category bar is 248px wide with a hairline separator; the right content area has a single column with a maximum width of 880px, so long lines of text are no longer stretched too far.
  • System-level adaptation: On macOS, space is automatically reserved at the top for the traffic lights (red, yellow, green buttons). This clearance also serves as the window dragging area; when the window enters full screen, the clearance automatically collapses.

Technical Implementation

  • No dependency on hashed class names: Styles are anchored to the official div[data-shortcut-modal="settings"] attribute using an element selector. Even if the official product changes its build tools or CSS Modules strategy, the plugin styles typically remain effective.
  • No modification to official files: The plugin does not modify or package any official files. It modifies rendering logic through the Cordis Slot mechanism.
  • Priority control: By setting the slot priority to -1000, it overrides the official default settings.header rendering.
  • Close logic: The close action directly calls the official closeTopModal() function, ensuring consistency with the close behavior triggered by keyboard shortcuts.

Installation and Activation

Run the following command to install the plugin into the specified profile:

dsh plugin --profile <profile> add dsh-fullscreen-settings

After installation, refresh the page or restart the DSH client to take effect.

Development and Testing

This plugin does not require a build step. The source code is located in the lib/ directory.

During development, you can test and validate it using the following commands:

# 运行单元测试
node --test tests/

# 校验代码语法
node --check lib/client.js

Compatibility and Rollback

  • Supported version: Tested with DSH 0.2.0-rc.1.
  • Upgrade safety: It does not modify or package official files. Even if a DSH upgrade changes style details, the worst case is that styles revert to the default state; functionality is not broken.
  • Rollback: Delete the corresponding cordis.patch.yml configuration file or uninstall it through the plugin management interface, then refresh the page to restore the default centered modal.
