Preface¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is primarily a command-line tool. Installing, starting, backing up, and troubleshooting it through a terminal all require manual operation. dsh-minato wraps these management tasks in a Web interface, providing an integrated solution for installation, monitoring, backup, and repair.
Plugin Positioning¶
dsh-minato is an unofficial helper tool developed by sakanamaru. It runs locally and allows you to perform core management operations for DSH without using a terminal. As part of the DeepSeek Harness ecosystem, it provides the same functionality as the CLI but lowers the barrier to use with a graphical interface.
Core Capabilities¶
Based on verified facts, the tool has the following capabilities:
- Terminal-free installation: Provides a graphical installation wizard that automatically configures environment variables and startup menu entries.
- Startup and monitoring: Starts and stops DeepSeek Harness through the Web UI and provides real-time status monitoring.
- Safe backup and restore: When backing up sessions, settings, and credentials, it includes integrity checks (completion marker and content hash). Interrupted or corrupted backup packages are rejected and will not be silently restored.
- Backup management: Allows you to view the specific contents of a backup package.
- Migration tool: Supports exporting configurations and sessions, then importing them on another PC.
- Update center: Centralizes updates for the tool, plugins, and DeepSeek Harness itself.
- Health checks: Provides diagnostics that directly identify faulty components and offer repair suggestions.
- Zero dependencies: The CLI, installer, and plugin itself do not depend on any third-party runtimes.
- Privacy and data security: Local-only operation; no telemetry, no uploads, and no account. Uninstalling does not delete user data.
Installation and Enablement¶
Taking the Linux system as an example, the installation command is as follows:
./install.sh # 安装到当前用户目录;使用 --prefix <dir> 可指定安装位置
After installation, you can start the Web UI from the command line:
dsh-minato start
Common Commands¶
The following are command examples for core operations:
- Start the Web UI:
dsh-minato start - Create a backup package:
dsh-minato backup - Run health checks:
dsh-minato doctor - View the backup list:
dsh-minato backup-list
Notes¶
- Unofficial tool: The project has no official association with DeepSeek and is a third-party helper tool.
- Windows signatures: Windows binaries are not digitally signed; you may encounter security warnings on first run.
- Data security: API keys are stored in plaintext in local configuration files; backup integrity relies on local verification, so it is recommended to verify before migration.
- Uninstall behavior: Uninstalling the tool itself does not delete user data; uninstalling is an explicit cleanup operation.
- Source code review: Because it involves local credential management, it is recommended to review the source code and license (MIT) before installation.
Conclusion¶
dsh-minato is suitable for users who want to manage DeepSeek Harness with a graphical interface instead of the command line. Through integrity checks and local execution, it improves operational convenience while maintaining controllability. For more details, visit the project homepage: GitHub
