DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a plugin-centric development environment. When building complex interactive interfaces, ensuring semantic correctness and accessible use is a common challenge. Traditional diagnostic tools often struggle to cover DSH-specific DOM structures and dynamic components. @oh-my-dsh/dsh-accessibility is a companion tool designed for this purpose, intended to assist developers with screen reader guidance and semantic diagnostics, and to provide an experimental conversation reading view.

Plugin Positioning and Maintainer

The plugin is maintained by omdsh-dev and belongs to the admin-security category. It is an optional DeepSeek Harness companion focused on accessibility support. It leverages DSH’s slot mechanism and structured projection, without patching, modifying, or observing hashed DOM class names.

Core Capabilities

The plugin provides the following capabilities:

  1. Screen reader guidance: Provides quick guides, supporting VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.
  2. Semantic diagnostics: Runs 17 structural checks, covering the following areas:
    • Landmarks and application titles
    • Control names and image alternative text
    • List ownership and nested interactive controls
    • ARIA references, composer, and log names
    • Menus, listboxes, trees, radio groups, tablists, dialogs, and resizable separators
  3. Experimental conversation reading view: Registered through DSH’s official conversation.view slot. This view provides a structured conversation snapshot, displaying completed and in-progress records in source order, preserving semantic Markdown and code, and explicitly disclosing context, reasoning, tool parameters, command input, and error information.

Installation and Enablement

Install using the DSH CLI:

dsh plugin --profile web add @oh-my-dsh/dsh-accessibility@0.1.0-beta.8

After installation, run dsh --profile web to start the application.

Typical Usage

  1. Open the application’s Settings.
  2. Select the Accessibility tab.
  3. Run diagnostics for the current page and read the screen reader quick guide.
  4. In the conversation interface, content may not be retained if only the tab is selected without loading the view.
  5. Click Load reading view to connect to DSH’s structured conversation snapshot.

Use Cases and Notes

  • Evidence, not assertion: A passing diagnosis only indicates that the mounted DOM satisfies deterministic contracts. This is evidence, not a claim of full accessibility compliance. It cannot prove speech output, browser mappings, focus timing, or specific screen reader behavior.
  • Permission boundary: The plugin does not patch DSH-owned components, nor can it safely replace focus traps, composite control keyboard behaviors, landmarks, or live region policies of external components.
  • Feature status: The current branch contains the unreleased candidate version 0.1.2-alpha.1 for DSH 0.1.7-alpha.1. The conversation reading view remains in Beta and does not carry a stable support claim.

Summary

This tool is suitable for developers who need to verify interface semantics in a DSH environment. It provides diagnostic evidence through structured checks and assists manual review through an experimental view.
