Introduction¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” In agent development, having large models generate PPT files is a common requirement. Existing approaches often rely on browser screenshots or unreliable cloud services. The dsh-kimi-ppt plugin solves this problem through the built-in kimi-ppt skill.
What Is It¶
dsh-kimi-ppt is a client-side plugin maintained by OMSociety. It integrates the kimi-ppt skill, allowing users to create, edit, replicate, and export PPT files within the DSH environment. Its core value lies in purely local export, with no dependency on a browser or external network, ensuring stability and controllability.
Core Features¶
- PPTD DSL: Based on Moonshot’s
.pptd(YAML) abstraction of OOXML; each page is self-contained and WYSIWYG. - Dual-artifact export: By default, it produces an “editable PPTD project + locally generated .pptx”.
- Design system: Built-in preset themes for scenarios such as academic, consulting, finance, promotion, and work.
- DSH local export: Uses
python-pptxto generate.pptxlocally, and Pillow to render preview images locally; stable offline. - Plugin as skill: Installed via
dsh plugin add; the host automatically registers theskills/kimi-pptskill root.
Installation and Activation¶
- Stop the running DSH instance (a running service locks dependencies; start it again after installation).
- Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile <profile> add "dsh-kimi-ppt"
- Restart DSH; the skill directory is automatically discovered.
Note: The desktop version (desktop profile) is managed exclusively by the application; CLI cannot perform installation on its behalf. Please operate inside the desktop application.
Typical Usage¶
The skill scripts are installed with the plugin package and are located in the profile’s node_modules/dsh-kimi-ppt/skills/kimi-ppt/scripts/ directory.
- Generate PPTX locally (no browser dependency):
python scripts/pptd_to_pptx.py <deck.pptd> -o <deck.pptx>
- Render preview images locally:
python scripts/pptd_to_png.py <deck.pptd> -o <.preview>
- Check local fonts:
python scripts/check_fonts.py <deck.pptd>
If desktop-enhanced export is required (including font embedding and fade-in/fade-out transitions), use:
python scripts/export_pptx.py <deck.pptd> -o <deck.pptx>
python scripts/export_images.py <deck.pptd> --output <.qa-images>
Design Systems and Fonts¶
The plugin includes multiple built-in design systems, located in reference/design_system/:
* academic: Academic
* consulting: Consulting
* finance: Finance
* promotion: Promotion
* work: Work
For fonts, reference/local-fonts.md defines the mapping between scenarios and recommended fonts. Before generation, it is recommended to run check_fonts.py for validation; missing fonts will trigger an automatic prompt and provide local alternatives (such as MiSans, Century Gothic, etc.).
Dependencies and Notes¶
- Local export dependencies:
python-pptx,Pillow,PyYAML. - Desktop-enhanced dependencies: Node.js 18+,
agent-browser, and Chrome or Edge. Desktop-enhanced export requires access towww.kimi.comandstatics.moonshot.cn. - Feature limitations: Font embedding and fade-in/fade-out transitions are only available in desktop-enhanced export and are not supported by local export.
- Project nature: kimi-ppt is an unofficial project, intended for learning and research only.
Conclusion¶
dsh-kimi-ppt addresses the need for agents to generate PPT files locally and in a controllable way within the DSH environment. Through the PPTD DSL and local scripts, it provides developers with a complete workflow from design to export.
